Despite freezing temperatures on Friday, February 14, MFS students joined thousands of passionate Eagles fans on Broad Street to celebrate their Super Bowl champions with an energetic citywide parade. The celebration kicked off near Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, and made its way up Broad Street, culminating at the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where fans cheered as their favorite players and team staff delivered speeches.

Many MFS students who attended described the electric atmosphere created by the fans, all cheering on the Eagles as they rode by on a giant green bus, waving and celebrating with the crowd. Despite the daunting cold and long waits, Philadelphia rallied for its team with unwavering energy.
Sophia Lo Re ’26 said, “We were high-fiving anyone that came by and cheered for the families of the team members.”
This amped-up environment was seconded by Jude Sansevero ’25, who noted, “Everyone was super hype,” capturing the excitement that filled Philadelphia during the parade.
Even the cold could not ruin the experience for fans like Lo Re, who added, “I thought the parade was so much fun, despite my feet going numb an hour into standing and waiting for the team to come around.”
Anjali Shah ’26 had a similar experience to Lo Re. “There was a lot of good energy,” she shared, though she waited for hours and struggled to find a spot because “it was packed.”

All students interviewed agreed that the atmosphere was not only thrilling but incredibly unifying, bringing the city together in a way they had not expected it to.
Makenna Wakahia ’26, who attended the parade with Lo Re, shared a memorable example of the community spirit.
“The fans right behind us saw how cold we were and gave us their extra hand warmers, which was really nice, and everyone just felt like one big community, chanting together even if we didn’t know each other.”
Azaria Coleman-Stokes ’25 touched on what this sense of community meant to her.
She commented, “Hearing ‘Go Birds’ every few seconds and being able to high-five my favorite players truly created a sense of togetherness at a time when the city needed it the most.”
Shah felt similarly to Coleman-Stokes regarding the necessity of this unifying moment within a tense political climate. “You could tell that everyone felt really united because of this win. That was really special, especially with everything else that’s happening right now. Everything [else] feels so divided, but [this] felt very united.”
MFS students were especially excited to see their favorite players up close and experience the thrill of engaging with the team.
Wakahia said, “It was really fun seeing the players I see on the screen every Sunday in real life.”
Sansevero noted that “the players would sometimes run up to the barricades where everyone was, and they were super into it, too.”
Coleman-Stokes also shared her excitement about celebrating alongside the team. “Being at the parade was a one-of-a-kind experience. Not only was I surrounded by other Eagles fans, but members of the Eagles team,” she described.
Chloe Brame-Smalls ’25 captured her experience at the parade. She shared, “Getting to high five my favorite Eagles players Cooper DeJean, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and more, and surrounding myself with Eagle fever” made the celebration a “truly epic experience.”
